Popular Indian restaurant My Delhi launched their brand-new bottomless curry club at their Sunderland branch on Sunday (March 17).

Reporter Darcie Rawlings and her partner went along to try it - here are our thoughts on the My Delhi Bottomless Curry Club.

Located on Borough Rd, Sunderland, the multi-award-winning restaurant opened its doors on Sunday (March 17) beginning a new era for the popular Indian food venue which will see a bottomless curry club hosted each week between 1-10pm.

Promising a sizeable menu including some of their most popular dishes, My Delhi’s highly anticipated launch For those driving to the restaurant, it was easy to find with plenty of secure car parks nearby.

The Northern Echo: The décor was interesting and vibrant at the venue

My first impressions of the restaurant is that it was extremely clean and that the waiting staff were incredibly attentive. Upon arrival we were shown to our table located on the bottom floor which was set up ready for the bottomless launch.

The Northern Echo: We were welcomed with a basket of fresh Papadams upon arrival

After being seated we were presented with a basket of fresh Papadams and dips and our server explained the Bottomless Curry Club concept – which was essentially that they servers would take our initial order and from there we could eat and continue to order from the bottomless menu, until the final 30 minutes of our booking.

The Northern Echo: We tried nearly every item on the menu

In my opinion this was plenty of time to get your money’s worth of curry as the kitchen and servers were extremely quick with fulfilling orders during the 90 minute sitting.

Firstly, we ordered the two street from the menu which were the Onion Bhaji and the Delhi Chicken Tikka which were both flavoursome and fantastic starter options.

From the main roadside curries options we chose some of the vegan options which were Grandma’s Aloo Matar which was a fragrant vegetable curry with potato and peas, with a small kick of spice I loved this option.

The Northern Echo: Grandmas Aloo Matar was a hearty dish suitable for vegans too

We also tried both the Dilli Paneer Butter Masala and the 1950’s Butter chicken with their Dum Pulau Rice and Mini Naan. The curries were both creamy and thick and certainly were some of the nicest we had ever tried.

The Northern Echo: The butter chicken was one of the best we have tried

Alongside the main dishes we tired the Chacha Chips which were spiced chunky chips and the Kachumber Salad which was a finely chopped cucumber, onion, carrot and coriander salad which was fresh and cooling.

The Northern Echo: The sides were also fantastic and paired perfectly with the main dishes
